Three Greats

It's 1983. "Thriller" is one year old, but "Purple Rain" has yet to be released. A very young looking Michael Jackson is spotted by an aging yet energetic James Brown and shyly appears on stage. In addition to doing the now famed moonwalk, he pays homage to the older man by performing some flawless James Brown moves.

After a very short but nonetheless exciting performance, Jackson informs Brown of Prince's presence at the concert. Though Prince has released a few successful albums by now, his popularity has not begun to challenge Jackson's. It seems that Brown doesn't even know who he is at this time.

Though the two young stars have similarly funky attire, their performances and personalities couldn't be more different. Michael is a pure virtuoso, yet doesn't seem like he knows quite what to do. Prince, on the other hand, completely steals the show. Though he is a very good singer and no slouch at the guitar, he does almost nothing besides being strange and doing a few stage tricks. Furthermore, in contrast to Michael, he seems to love stealing the spot-light from James Brown. That thing at the end where he pulls the stage light down gets me every time. If it's not intentional, there's also no indication of regret or apology. Though you can't see James' face as he walks toward the commotion, I bet he's pissed.

Like Tetris, But Harder

Did any of you love Block-Out when you were kids? Probably not, but I loved it. It's 3d tetris. I swear this game is how I gained a spatial sense.

Funny Murder Photograph Alteration

Have you seen the above photograph? It captures Jack Ruby shooting Lee Harvey Oswald in 1963. The photograph was taken by Robert H. Jackson. Anyway, while looking for that photograph, I came upon the altered version below.

Architecture! Wild staircases! My favourite is the bookcase one I think.
