  1. Downloaded and attempted... I couldn't even finish the tutorial- but yes, I can see it being unstoppably addictive. I'm obsessed right now with this 90s game called creatures 3/docking station. The gameplay is kind of obnoxious in a lot of ways, but it's the best artificial life simulation game i could find. The creatures have learning capability, genes and organs and interactions between various chemicals and hormones, diseases, learned behaviours and evolution. In addition to that there are complex machine modules lying around everywhere that require boolean logic to put together. The best part from my perspective is that the designers encouraged user development of the game, so there is a (dwindling) community of creature programmers making ridiculous creatures and foods, plants, bugs, etc, and basically the whole thing is a big, interesting and chaotic system. There are some new games coming out along the same line that are hope are as good, but less clunky.
